  • Kim Roentved, Head Coach

    Roentved, born in Copenhagen, Denmark, began his professional indoor soccer career in 1980 with the Wichita Wings, where he would win two MISL Defender of the Year Awards during the 1983-1984 and the 1985-1986 seasons. In 1987, Roentved joined the Kansas City Comets, and quickly became a fan favorite and remained with the Comets through the 1990-1991 season. When the Comets folded in the summer of 1991, Roentved signed as a player/assistant coach with his former team, the Wichita Wings. After three years as an assistant coach, Roentved was promoted to head coach prior to the 1994 season. Roentved remained as the Wings' head coach until 1998, when new ownership took the franchise over. Roentved then came back to Kansas City to play for the National Professional Soccer League team, the Attack, where he finished his career at the end of the 1998-1999 season.

    Since retiring in 1999, Kim has coached youth clubs all over the Kansas City area, and currently owns and operates a business. Kim has three children, son Chad, who is 31, living in Tulsa, OK, son Cole, 21, who currently plays soccer for former Comets coach, Rick Benben, at UMKC, and daughter, Jade, who is 10. Kim and his wife, Linda, live in Shawnee, KS, which is where they've lived ever since Kim joined the Comets in 1987.

  • Vlatko Andonovski, Assistant Coach

     Vlatko joins the Comets as Assistant Coach with an incredible soccer pedigree that includes an illustrious professional indoor soccer career as well as coaching some of the country’s finest young soccer players. Vlatko started his professional indoor career in 2000 with the Wichita Wings. In 2001, he joined the Comets, where he played until 2005, During his time with the team, he was named the Comets Most Improved Player of the Year in 2002, Defender of the Year in 2002, & Comets Most Valuable Player of the Year in 2005. He was also a 2-time MISL All Star. Currently, Vlatko is Director of Coaching for Futura FC & the Head Coach of the Kansas City Kings semi-professional Indoor Soccer Team. Vlatko resides in Kearney, MO, with his wife & two children, Dargana & Luka.

  • Douglas McLagan, Assistant Coach

    Doug attended Cardiff University in Wales, UK from 1982 – 1986 where he graduated with a BA in Human Movement Studies and Post Graduate Certificate in Education. He played all four years for the All British Collegiate team. He then came to the United States and played in the MISL for The Kansas City Comets from 1988 – 1990. When the Comets folded, Doug followed then-teammate, Kim Roentved, to play for the Wichita Wings from 1990 – 1991 in the MSL. Later that year, Doug was hired as a teacher at Blue Springs High School where he currently teaches Physical Education and works with Special Education students. His High School boys soccer program was the first team ever to win a Missouri State title in 1996, and not be from the city of St Louis. His High School girls team came third in 2004. Doug currently resides in Lee’s Summit with his wife Chris, and their three kids Kyle, Cole and Caden. He coaches in the KCFC club and likes to spend his time watching his kids play soccer and following his favorite team, Chelsea.
