After playing college soccer at the University of Washington, Waltman began his professional indoor career with the former Chicago Storm of the MISL in 2004, where he was first-team All-Rookie with multiple keeper of the week awards. In 2007 Waltman became a member of the Detroit Ignition. As the starter in the 2007-2008 season Waltman led the MISL in minutes played, wins, assists by a goalkeeper, and save percentage, helping the Ignition to their second straight regular season championship. He was named second team MISL all-league. During that season, Danny achieved his 1000th MISL career save. In 2008-2009, Waltman led the Ignition to the Championship of the Xtreme Soccer League and earning MVP honors, becoming the first keeper in indoor soccer to win that award since Victor Nogueira 1998. In 2009, Waltman played outdoor soccer with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds where he collected 5 wins, 4 shutouts, and had a GAA of 1.27. Waltman looks to continue his success in his second season with the Comets.
