
2011-12 Season Highlights:
Danny Waltman has been the leader for the Comets' defense ever since he signed with the team. He played in 25 games this season. Waltman assisted on 6 different goals during the season. Waltman led the league in games played as a goalie. He was also 2nd in the league in wins with 13. His 71.7% save percentage was also 3rd in the league.
2010-11 Season Highlights:
Waltman was the first player signed by the MISL 1st year Missouri Comets. During the Comets playoff run Waltman had some of his best performances. In the month of February he was named the Goalkeeper of the Month where he went 3-1. During a 3 game win streak Waltman did not give up more than seven points in any game. In the month of February Waltman saved a total of 66 of 82 shot attempts. Waltman saved 21 of 24 at home against Chicago (2/20/11), 17 of 20 against Omaha (2/25/11), and 18 of 21 against Chicago (2/26/11). Outside his outstanding goalkeeping in the month of February, Waltman scored a three-point goal on that 2/26/11 game against Chicago.
Career Highlights:
After playing college soccer at the University of Washington, Waltman began his professional indoor career with the former Chicago Storm of the MISL in 2004, where he was first-team All-Rookie with multiple keeper of the week awards. In 2007 Waltman became a member of the Detroit Ignition. As the starter in the 2007-2008 season Waltman led the MISL in minutes played, wins, assists by a goalkeeper, and save percentage, helping the Ignition to their second straight regular season championship. He was named second team MISL all-league. During that season, Danny achieved his 1000th MISL career save. In 2008-2009, Waltman led the Ignition to the Championship of the Xtreme Soccer League and earning MVP honors, becoming the first keeper in indoor soccer to win that award since Victor Nogueira 1998. In 2009, Waltman played outdoor soccer with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds where he collected 5 wins, 4 shutouts, and had a GAA of 1.27. Waltman looks to continue his success in his second season with the Comets.
