FEATURE ST. LOUIS TO JOIN COMETS Nov 29, 2012Strong Forward Adds to Missouri’s Offensive Firepower
INDEPENDENCE, MO – The Missouri Comets announced today the signing of Forward, Stefan St. Louis. St. Louis (pronounced ‘loo-ee’) will be with the team as they travel to New York this weekend for games against the Syracuse Silver Knights and the Rochester Lancers.
Originally from Trinidad, St. Louis held the records for most goals scored on three different clubs and helped his high school team to a 17-8 overall record while he was there. He moved to the US in 2006 to begin his collegiate career at Oakland University in Michigan.
While at Oakland, St. Louis started 54 of 59 games and earned enough honors to fill up his trophy chest. He was named All-Newcomer and Mid-Con All-Conference Second Team his freshman year. His junior and senior seasons earned him All-Summit League First Team and a place on the All-Midwest Region Third Team.
“I like him,” stated Head Coach, Kim Roentved when asked about St. Louis. He continued, “…his size allows him to stand up with any player in the league and his great field vision will help him to find and set up his teammates or simply turn and shoot.”
St. Louis will travel with the Comets this weekend and make his home debut at the Independence Events Center on December 9th, in the Comets’ Military Appreciation Night. To make room for him on the roster, Kevin Jorgensen was released on Wednesday.
